graphics in e-mail does not show

I recently deleted my contacts and had restored them, but now graphics in my
e-mail shows as X. I don't know if the two are related but I sure would like
to get graphics.

It does not happen now, though it has (for over a year) and the settings in
Options > E-Mail Options is set to save sent messages into "Saved". What
might cause this?

Could recieving an attachment in an email from an AOL account glitch it?
