Graphics card question

Hi, I have a P4 3.0Ghz computer and I'm looking at getting a new
graphics card for it. Sadly I have a AGP slot so I was trying to find
what the best thing for AGP would be. Right now I'm looking at a ATI
Radeon X850 XT PE but I would like to know from your guys' opinion
whether or not that would be a good card and if not then what card to
get. Thanks for your help!

How much memory and what type do you already have in your comp? You probably
don't need the 256mb agp, and it will put off more heat than the 128mb one.

I had a geforce 128mb before this one above. It is a good card. In fact, I
am
going to go buy another one now that I am returning the ATI Radeon.

I installed one of these bad boys in my son's system and now there isn't any
game he can't play. He runs every game he owns (including all the usual
heavy-duty 3-D games like HL-2 etc.) at 1024x768 with all the eye candy
turned on. Pretty nice.

other review sites like it, it tops the 6800 GT in most of the tests.
Has anyone ever had experience with the ATI Radeon X850 XT PE on a

That's an 8x card. Make sure your slot is not only 4x. And the assumption
here is that you want a card for intensive gaming.

Yea, my slot is 8x and I'm really just trying to get the best I can for
AGP since PCI-e has pretty much taken over the graphics card market.

so basically for no reason at all, you want a high end graphics card?
Get an ALL IN WONDER CARD by ATI and have a decent card that you can record
through the composite or svid inputs- watch TV ...etc and have something
more to show for your money. On my 9600 AIW the kids (and myself) play Medal
of honor, bunch of blizzard games, Hit man, Unreal stuff and I do some
serious video/imaging work on it too, (not that you need all that much to
do this) If you have a GIG + of memory fine, if not use your money to
upgrade in this area.
