When I click on a file with a GIF or JPEG extension, XP gives me an
hourglass for 35 seconds before finally displaying the graphic, no matter
what size. Is there a way to configure XP to open graphics more quickly or
does anyone know of a freeware package that will do it like LView Pro used
to do years ago (almost instantaneously)?

Used LView Pro many years ago too, I now use Irfanview and it's fantastic...
