GPO Refresh and IE Zones

I set up an IE GPO and left the refresh rate as default.
The security zones have been configured specifically for
all users. I want to be able to let users change the IE
zone settings but occasionally change them back to the
default zones in the GPO without logging off. First, is
this possible? Secondly, when I have tried to run
secedit.exe, it shows they were applied successfully in
event viewer but the zones remain to the user
specifications.

I have researched this but have been unsuccessful in
finding more information. Any direction would be
appreciated.

Try enabling Internet Explorer Maintenance Policy Processing and selecting
"process even if Group policy Objects have not changed". The KB link below has
more information on how to enable it and be sure to read the explanation tab
about that setting. -- Steve
