I am currently in the process of changing from .bat to .vbs login
scripts. I have implemented the new .vbs scripts via GPO. However,
users are having intermittent problems with the scripts. The scripts
will not run for certain user/pc combintations. For example, if UserA
logs in to PcA, the script will not run. If UserA logs in to PcB, the
script runs. And if UserB logs in to PcA, the script runs!
The workstations are a combination of Windows XP Pro SP 1 and SP 2.
The DC is Server 2003.
The workstations that cause problems have been both SP 1 and SP2.
These workstations have not been consistent in age, model, etc.
Further, it does not appear to be a security issue or script engine
issue because the script can be run manually (double-click) from the
/sysvol folder after the user has logged in.
The Event Viewer and Userenv logs have yieled no further information,
other than confirming the script GPO is being applied.
Thank you in advance for any ideas, suggestions, responses.
