GPMC

Hi.

I can't seem to find a Windows 2003 Server newsgroup, so...

I'm using Terminal Services on a Windows 2003 Server. Presently, there is no
domain set up.

I'd like to use GPMC to simplify GP management, including possibly copying
the GP from one Windows 2003 server to another, to avoid having to set each
policy from scratch.

Seems I have to set up a domain, though. Any way around that? Will that
affect my Terminal services? Any suggestions?

Thanks.

FYI: They are called xxx.Windows.Server.yyy, e.g.,
microsoft.public.windows.server.active_directory

The GMPC will run on XP so you MIGHT be able
to use it there to edit etc local profiles but the domain
based policies are of course irrelevant.

XP with SP1+ that is. (Presumably it will also run on
a Win2003 server that is not a DC.)

Thanks, Herb.

I guess what's most important is that I be able to *find* the Windows Server
(2003) Group Policy file(s) so that I can copy them to *another* Windows
Server (2003) machine.

Do you know if that's possible?

Thanks.
