GP to enable an XP machine's QuickLaunch?

Fran

There are two settings we make on ALL our PC's when they're set up
(and it's a standard for all users in tbe company) : IE's Inline
AutoComplete and QuickLaunch toolbar.

I have not yet been able to figure out how I can set a GPO to do this
on all users in a OU.

Any ideas? Or is this just not possible in Windows XP?
(this is a 2003 native domain)

Howdy Fran!

To disable the AutoComplete in IE, try:
"UserConf\AdmTemp\Windows Comp\Internet Explorer\" and there "Disable
autocomplete for forms".

Windows QuickLaunch-toolbar is a little bit tricky, since I don't know
of a GP or method you can adjust it. One way would be to create a custom
profile for all new users that has the QuickLaunch bar adjusted.

Maybe there's a 3rd Party Tool that is capable of changing the behaviour
of the QuickLaunch bar.

cheers,

Try this:

NOTE: For a stand alone exe to be run as a startup script, send an email
here and choose #8. When this utility is run as a "Startup script", it will
automatically adjust the system Registry to "turn on" the Quick Launch bar,
by default, for all newly created user accounts.
