Bill W

Don't know where else to post, so I'll post here. I'm getting the following
message from Google whenever I try and access it:

"We're sorry but your query looks similar to automated requests from a
computer virus or spyware application. To protect our users, we can't
process your request right now"

Anyone know what it is and if it's anything I need to worry about. I've
seen on the web that it pops up now and then. It looks like if you're
patient, it'll go away.

Thanks

Hello Bill
Is it a 403 forbidden warning.
You cannot get web sites to load but any favourites are OK.
I posted similar in 'inetexplorer.ie6.browser 31 May, but only got one
response.
I did a Google and got this very tech-speak article but could find no info
specific to what I got.

I finished up talking to my ISP help on the phone.
It took some 15-20 mins to sort it - it is an ISP problem I have since been
told.
A possible cause is a 'corrupt cookie' if that's possible or whatever it
might be??
I still have the screen shot if anyone wants to see it - and if it is 'de
rigueur' to post them.
Good luck

Thank you for the reply. I have 2 computers on a home network and both are
experiencing the same problem. What specifically did you or your ISP do to
resolve the problem? Thanks again.

Did some research on Google's forum and it looks like this is happening all
over. It appears that started late last night. One person said their
company is experiencing the problem in several countries. It looks like it
only happens when you're logged in on Google. I'm using Google in a
non-logged in mode and everything works fine. I'll run this way until
Google fixes the problem. From what I've read, it's Google's problem.

Hi again Bill
I knew you were going to ask me that - but I have no idea how the tech at my
ISP fixed it - I doubt he did either.
All I know is that he had a 'problem sheet' for this, and we went through a
number of performances, cleared my account, pinged this and that, reset all
the settings and defaults, rebooted and rebooted, until all was OK.
Sorry I cannot help any further
Rgds
