Google not loading

Whenever I try to open google I get the 'The page cannot
be displayed' message. All other web sites seem to work
fine. I don't know where the problem lies, but as it is
only the google.com/google.co.uk/google.it/google.au etc.
addresses that don't work I may have done something to IE.

I'm running IE 6.0.

Any help would be appreciated.

not sure what yer doing, but try this, make it a trusted
site in secuity-internet options.

It may be a HOSTS file problem.
Look for a file named HOSTS (no extension, could be hidden) rename it
OLDHOSTS.

If you did not create the file, then you may have parasites, or you are
using a web accelerator program that would be causing this problem.

Hi. I too can't get Google up in Explorer 6.0, and all other sites
seem OK. I tried changing HOSTS to OLDHOSTS and that didn't seem to
work. Any other ideas? (got here on my Mac)

Clear your cookies and Temporary Internet Files (Folders) TIF.

Remove the complete Index.
Delete/Empty Temporary Internet Cache completely

Check that hosts file again. If it was re created then you may have some
parasites or virus.

To protect against an other attack, be sure to install hotfix 828750 which
fixes the exploit that this virus uses.

If all fails, have experts look at your registry entries.

Go to http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/hijackthis.zip
Download "Hijack This!" [freeware] Latest version is 1.98.

Unzip the Download file in a NEW FOLDER that you can create before you start
the download.
DO NOT install in your Desktop folder.
DO NOT use any of the TEMP folders that are presently in your computer.
Double-click "HijackThis.exe" and Press "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log"
button.
Click: "Save Log" (generates "hijackthis.log")

Next, HijackThis | Config [button] | Misc Tools [button]
Click: Generate StartupList log [button] (generates "startuplist.txt")
