Don't hold your breath. Google will be on low powered laptops and PC's. I
am sure Google will have an impact on the industry but Microsoft will be at

Read the articles before you post. Google is *starting* with netbooks
but Chrome OS will be made to run on laptops and desktops as well. Both
Chrome OS and Ubuntu (and other Linux distros) will make the Internet
safer while we have been waiting for almost two years for MS to get off
its ass and patch IE6 and 7 for the latest vulnerability:

So what? Other than the name "google" attached to it, nothing is new. If
you've followed the netbook history, many that had linux pre-installed
were returned because the users wanted Windows. Netbooks were conceived
to be inexpensive so that economically depressed persons could use them
by connecting to the Internet, which makes no sense at all because the
cost of connecting to the Internet is like an additional monthly utility
bill.
Recently netbooks have become popular because of their potability,
weighing 2-4 lbs and the users now want full laptop functionality.
So what the market effect of attaching the name "goolge" to an already
existing os than has had 20+ yrs to become popular and failed is yet to
be seen.

And, fortunately, you will see it.
