Hi Good folks,

I have recently tried out google chrome and ever since windows defender keeps telling me that google updater is acting suspiciously. I can probably disable the updater but do i need to have it on or will things operate as normal.
Any takers?

Get rid of Google Chrome and use Firefox instead....

OK, in answer to the question ...


... no, you don't need Google's updater but it does no harm, just a wee bit annoying sometimes. You should be able to tell windows defender to ignore the Google Updater or get windows defender to allow it to do it's job.

Anyone who uses any of Google's software will have their updater installed.

Google Chrome, in my opinion, needs a lot of work still to do before I would be interested in using it, it is a BETA product, prone to failing.
