I would love to be able to use this program, but it is way too buggy.
Problems with viewing the site in Design mode. 6 crashes just today. I've
been using FP since 1997 and have never had trouble like this. I'm going back
to FP 2000 until I can get Dreamweaver in here.

Have you tried a detect and repair?

What is the pyschology behind posting in a newsgroup that you're not going
to use FrontPage anymore? I see these kinds of posts all the time and just
don't understand the purpose behind them.

Frustration with what used to be a fine product.

Have you opened the management console and looked in the event logs to see if it gives a reason for
crashing??
It could be something extremely simple.

this was the site with 7000 folders and 28000 files if i remember correctly.

honestly, it's too good to scrap. there are some significant improvements
in the gui and the functionality over 2000.

what was the os you were having problems on?

Only if you need and plan to use the new features, is the upgrade needed.

If that's the case he'll have problems with Dreamweaver as well!

Thanks for sharing that with the group, Bull. Looking forward to hearing
about your experiences with DreamWeaver -- after the 2-6 months lag in
learning how to use it properly, of course.

Hang on, now Jim. I thought that at first, but note that he said he's going
back to FrontPage 2000, not that he's abandoning FrontPage.

Oops. Darn. It was ME who didn't read closely enough! He IS going to
Dreamweaver. Sorry, Jim. Well, at least it will be the Dreamweaver group
that hears about all the "bugs" in Dreamweaver, I suppose. Maybe he'll come
back one day after having a closer look at the grass on the other side of
the fence.

oh, come on. it's worth the upgrade for split view and code snippets alone.

I would completely uninstall it, then make sure you've gotten all windows
and office updates, then do a full install of fp 2003 again.
