My God, no ofence but you are really don't know what is a BHO. Internet
Download Manager is using a BHO too, Google Toobar add his own BHO
stuff , and a lot of other download managers are using BHO's. In the
FlashGet case it simply add a litlle toolbar with download options like
you can see :

Status: L TB ("L" - Legitimate items / "TB" - Toolbar)
From Wikipedia:

A Browser Helper Object (BHO) is a DLL module designed as a plugin for
Microsoft's Internet Explorer web browser to provide added
functionality. BHOs were introduced in October 1997 with the release of
version 4 of Internet Explorer. Most BHOs are loaded once by each new
instance of Internet Explorer. However, in the case of the Windows File
Explorer, a new instance is launched for each window.

Some modules enable the display of different file formats not
ordinarily interpretable by the browser. The Adobe Acrobat plugin that
allows Internet Explorer users to read PDF files within their browser
is a BHO.

Other modules add toolbars to Internet Explorer, such as the Alexa
Toolbar that provides a list of web sites related to the one you are
currently browsing, or the Google Toolbar that adds a toolbar with a
Google search box to the browser user interface.

My God, no ofence but you are really don't know what is a BHO.

You are badly mistaken. I have zero BHO's, and do not tolerate a single one.
I ride herd on them with BHODemon, and zap them as I find them. :)

There are a few "friendly" BHO's, but most are unnecessary. Acrobat Reader,
Spybot S&D (permanent blocking option) are a couple of examples. I don't use
either, and don't need any IE tool bars, as I use Maxthon.

I really, really like FlashGet. But that BHO is sort of a deal killer. I
will stay with Free Download Manager, which is pretty much a clone of
Flashget. It has no BHO, but is a tad harder to set up than FlashGet.

My favorite features of both programs is that you can use subtle sounds to
indicate your download has started, finished, or stopped. Another favorite
feature is that you can check an option to download immediately, with no
confirmation. I like to eliminate as many mouse clicks as possible.

You can easily switch off the FlashGet BHO using something like
'Autoruns' from sysinternals. fgiebar.dll can also be deleted w/o
affecting the programme's function.
