Good 80GB Hard drive

I'm looking for the best 80 GB (8MB cache)SATA hard drive for the lowest price.
I'm thinking either Hitachi or Western Digital. It will be primarily used for
gaming. Anyone have an opinion on one over the other?I've read plenty of
reviews but they mostly cover the flagship(largest capacity) drive. Thanks

Get the highest RPM drive you can. Use www.Pricewatch.com for pricing.

Within an affordable budget, go for the Western Digital Caviar 80GB (7200 RPM
8MB cache). I use the ATA version currently for operating system, programs, etc,
along with a 200GB (also WDC) for backups.

If you don't mind spending $250 a drive, you could opt for the Western Digital
Raptor 74GB (10,000 RPM, 8MB cache).. I have heard people say it's extremely
fast, but alas a little out of my price range so I'll have to trust their word..

Regards,
Chris

Western Digital gets my vote. They have always fast and reliable drives.

Seagate makes good drives and has 5 year warranty on retail
budget-grade like this (80GB /8MB / SATA) type.

As a fellow gamer I can attest to the quality of the Western Digital
drives. Don't know much about the Hitachi drives, but from experience
and what others have told me, you can't go wrong with a WD drive.
