Go back to XP?

To be quite honest - I'm tired of messing with Vista. My MIL bought a new
computer with Vista and now she has had nothing but problems with her new
computer. It will not recognize her camera, her high speed internet is slower
than slow, half the time she can't get her programs to open without either 1.
waiting about 30 minutes or 2. shutting down her computer and restarting
everything. (of course - everytime she has a problem she calls me!) So - is
it possible to get a copy of XP to install? It's really sad when a new
computer is running slower than the 10 year old one she just got rid of.
Thanks for any help and/or advice!

You will need to contact the OEM of the new PC you bought pre installed with
Vista and ask them about a downgrade copy of XP and activation key.

Sure you can.
Have not you got XP copy? Try it but do not forget to format your c: (system) drive othervise you will allways see some traces of vista like me.
I cleaned allmost everythig but still see the opening menu asking "boot from vista or old windows"
silly it does not know there is NO vista.

Hi JamesMarie,

There is not one reason I can think of why Vista behaves that way on your
machine.
Just go back to the one that sold you this computer and ask him/her to
repair it.
It is obvious that :
- one sold you a machine with a bad Vista install
- one sold you a machine with hardware that does not meet the Vista
requirements
Unless you specified yourself the hardware and the OS (Vista in this case)
it is their fault and not yours.

But believe me Vista is a magnificent OS - it runs marvelously on my new
DELL machine.

I am just wondering if you ending up down grading.... and if that helped as i
have the same problems.!
