I have that problem, too, and I am hardly a novice with computers, PCs
or Excel.
My approach to solving the problem was to buy a basic how-to book on
Excel. I chose one of Walkenbach's book, based on recommendations. In
fact, I have several of his books (not all on Excel). IMHO, none of
his books is very good as a reference text. I cannot quickly find
information to save my soul. But if you read the intro material
cover-to-cover, he does a pretty good job of explaining basic
terminology. (The only problem is: you will never find it again.)
Additionally, post here with questions about specific terms. Most
people in these newsgroups (forums) are reasonable and helpful, even
with "newbie" questions.
