I have faculty and staff on a 2003 server. Our mailboxes are on an Exchange
2007. I have had a number of my users call me and tell me that they could
not find some users in the GAB. When I look in my Outlook client, I can see
the user they are speaking of. I would then ask the user to Download their
address book. When this is done, it is done with errors. Why can I see the
users and others cannot? Below you will see of what users get when
downloading the address book.


Task '(e-mail address removed)' reported error (0x80190194) : 'The operation
failed.'
 
A corruption in the oab-files could be the cause of this. Do you have them
download the entire OAB or just the updates?
If either method fails, delete the oab-files on the local client (can be
done remotely or via a logon script) and see if it works after the OAB has
been downloaded again.
