I recently installed a new hard drive as my new boot drive, and copied
everything to it usign the program which came with my drive. My new drive,
however, isn't recognizing everything. Microsoft Plus Media Center Edition
won't work, and when I try to reinstall, it says the code isn't correct, even
though it's being typed directly off the packaging. Several other non-MS
programs are also giving me error message. I desperately need to get these
programs working again. Is there any way to fix whatever happened during the
swap so that things work again? I can't reinstall XP because it came
preinstalled on my computer and I didnt' get a reinstall disc with it.
Thanks!

Your PC suplier / Manu is, I believe obliged, under the MS licence with
supplying you some means of returning your PC to factory state.
This may be by a recover cd or a hidden recovery partition, so read your
manual or web site FAQ's
I havent used a drive copy utility in a while but I believe they require you
to copy to the new hd, then shutdown the PC. Configure the new hd as master,
disconnect old before rebooting
