Ghosting to a larger drive with SP2

My Ghost software copies XP SP2 to the larger drive I desperately need
just fine. When I start the system on the new hard drive, however, it
boots to a high-res blue screen that has a Windows XP logo on it. (This
is after the two load screens with the green bars.) There doesn't seem
to be a way to move from the splash screen.

I'm trying to avoid a complete reinstall, especially of my applications.
Has anyone run into the same issue?

Do you have room for a second hard drive? Use them both. You could use two
seperate drive letters ( C: & D: ) or maybe mount the drive to C: using Disk
Management.

I have not had this problem since i abandoned Ghost for Drive Image which
has worked OK in the circumstances you describe.
However it occurs to me that if you format the new drive and then partition
it so that the first partition is the same size as the old one Ghost may
work correctly.
You could then use the Drive image sister program, Partition Magic, to
extend the new first primary partiton to encompass the whole of the new
drive and then use your bios settings swap the boot order putting the new
drive so that t will be seen as the system drive in Windows.

Worth a try, I think!

Is it something about paging size not existing or too small? I actually just
encountered the same problem yesterday when I try to move my stuff to a new
dirve except in this game it's win2K. I've looked around the net and there's
a solution to it. Get a win98 bootdisk(bootdisk.com) and boot from there.
After that type fdisk /mbr, the windows should load it fine but remember to
set the paging size after you get it then you're all set.
