Ghost Files? ?

Gentlepeople,
The web site I am trying to publish is 60 GB in size and 4 years old, and
has been
non-maintained but added to by amateurs over this period of time. I am
trying to publish it (Migrate) to new hardware. I started a publish operation
which ran for about 36 hours, but was terminated by a Server Error.

Server Error: The server extensions were unable to access the file
".mincold.gif.tmp". Please check the file permissions.

I have searched for this file on the server I am publishing from, and cannot
find it.
Is it possible that this is a ghost file? A file referenced in an index
somewhere, but that doesn't really exist anymore? If it is, where would be
the most likely place for it
to be referenced? Does anyone have any suggestions?

tmp = TeMPorary file *.gho = GHOst file.

No wonder it terminated = are you sure it's 60 GIGAbytes? and not MEGAbytes? 60
gig is 1 1/2 times my HDD. That is a HUGE site.
