Getting XP To Recognize Drives Larger Than 127 GB

Hi,
I have a 160 GB Western Digital HD I want to install as the only
drive.
I have it in right now. The BIOS recognizes it as 160 but XP
Home only
sees it as 127 GB. I do have Service Pack 1 installed. I have Dell
Dimension 8100 and I saw somewhere in a previous post that someone
with the 8100
*was* able to get the HD recognized without using a controller card in
a PCI slot. (I tried using the controller card that came with the HD
but it caused sluggishness and the audio would stutter as the cursor
was moved.) Perhaps a Registry change is needed? Your thoughts on
this would be appreciated.

Did you use the floppy that comes with your hard drive?

This has some information that will install in the hard
disk to be recognized with the right size.
