getting to desk top with XP home edition

I have XP home edition, and use to boot directly to my
desk-top. Now that I've added some patches, it goes to a
window showing a logo and the statement "to begin, click
your user name" on the left side, and a picture and my
name on the right side. After clicking on my name it then
goes to the desk top. How do I get rid of this feature.
When I boot up I want it to go directly to my desk top.

P.S. I'm not on a network, if that makes a difference.

Thanks for the help. j

Go to Start/Run and type: control userpasswords2 and press ok.

On the Users tab, clear the check next to "Users Must Enter A User Name And
Password To
Use This Computer" and click OK.

In the Automatically Log On dialog box that appears, type the user name
and password for the account you want to be logged on each time you start
your computer. If there is no password, leave that box blank.
