Getting SP2 on a dial-up line

I have a dial-up line, and was trying to get SP2. I tried an overnight
download, but that was "timed-out" by my ISP after a couple of hours.

So I ordered the CD-ROM version from Microsoft, and that said that it would
take 4-6 weeks for delivery.

Dismayed, I re-tried the download, and miracle of miracles, Microsoft has
figured out how to resume a download (finally). It had downloaded about
25Mb. overnight, and picked up there. I had to stop the rest of the download
a couple of times to make phone calls, etc. However, each time, the MS
download software was able to resume the download.

So, it took about a day, but I did get it downloaded. If you have a slow
dialup line like me, don't give up hope, it appears that you can do the
download piece-wise.

Copies of SP2 on CD are also reportedly available -- free -- at some
retail stores (places like Best Buy, CompUSA, Circuit City, etc.).

I think that the CDs will be out quicker than you think, I already
received mine in the mail from Microsoft, I ordered on the last day
before they took down the web site before the actual release (of coure,
the web site is back up now).

Look around other sources for CDs in the next few days - at least one
magazine has announced it for a cover disk on an issue to be published
at the end of the week, and it is expected that computer stores and the
like may have stocks too
