Getting rid of the "reviewing" toolbar

Every time I open Excel the reviewing tool bar opens by
default. I can get rid of it by going into view/toolbars,
but how can I change the default setting and not have it
open each time I open Excel?

This is sometimes a function of the workbook properties, often set when
someone forwards the file as an attachment. Go to File | Properties and
clear out the properties on the Custom tab.
