Getting rid of old downloads?

I'm trying to get rid of an old download of Power DVD. My husband downloaded
a trial version of it off the net and when the trail ran out, he bought a
version of it from someone who said it came with his computer, but, that he
had never installed it. Now we can't play any DVD's or open any DVD based
programs. I completely uninstalled the program, but, still find three files
when I run a search of all files and programs. I get told I can't delete
these files when I try.
Any ideas on what to do next?

Uninstall both versions of the program, then run a registry cleaner to
remove all references to both programs, then delete all remaining files
in the programs' folders. (You may have to reboot before you can delete
those files.) Reboot, and install the version you want to use.

In general, if you aren't sure whether a newer version of a program will
co-exist with or update the older version, uninstall the older version
first. Backup data files first.

Good luck.

they are locked (used) by your system.
If you are totally sure that you dont need them you can unlock them and
delete them with the following program (FREE)
http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/
after you install this right click on the files one by one and select unlock
and follow instructions.

A totally free DVD player is this:

I hope I have helped you.. if you need anything post here again
