Getting past the login on restart

We are using VNC to connect to a remote PC running XP Pro. Recently something has changed where we can no longer restart the unit and then reconnect after boot up, because the system is waiting for a keystroke. We have to be able to restart the unit remotely and reconnect. We do not have this problem with another machne running Windows 2000 Pro.

I think you are going to have to get somebody physically local to the
machine to describe what is going on.

As you know, it doesn't have to be this way--but our crystal ball is cloudy
today, in terms of what might have changed.

Why VNC, rather than Remote Desktop?
