Getting out of Safe Mode,, help

L

Okay , i've been able to boot up and get into the safe mode etc screen ,
but even if i choose start normally it goes to safe mode.

Now the way that this machine got into safe mode is through msconfig->
winini and checking off the safeboot option ,,, but after trying to repair
windows it's looping into windows safe mode with an error box stating that
setup can't continue in safemode , then it reboots and goes to the setup
screen and then goes into the safemode desktop again , and again. It just
keeps looping through this.

How can i get into Windows or get into the system to turn this off in the
winini????

Thanks

That would be great if i could get to msconfig ,, but i can't get to it as
the error box when clicked restarts the machine

Louis, it seems that your attempt to repair WinXP failed. That's why it
won't even boot into safe mode now. Best bet is to
try a Repair Install if you have a WinXP CD. Check here for further info
and pay attention to Step 3
http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm If a
repair install doesnt work then you have to do a format
and clean install.

Simply boot to xp cd,recovery, press enter for password, then type:listsvc
then,disable Msconfig.exe To verify,type:SERVICE_DISABLED When thru type:
EXIT For all cmds read kb314058 Or in recovery type:HELP
