Getting help from Microsoft

I posted a question last week "Folder Shortcuts will not
work", and never got a solution to my problem. I've tried
many things, including rightclick-drag, context menu,
different places, but folder shortcut will not open the
folder they point to. Other shortcuts work fine: documents
and application open like they are supposed to, but
folders do nothing. Other solutions I tried are below.

My question is this: How do I contact Microsoft to ask
about this? Is there a website or email address for
reliable support?

Whenever I make a shortcut to a folder (using right-drag)
and the double click it, the folder does not open. I see
an hourglass for a few seconds, then nothing. Does anybody
know how to correct this?

Sorry, I have already posted this question, but not gotten
a solution to the problem.

Doubleclicking a folder in Explorer works fine. Open is
listed in bold in the context menu.

This did not fix the problem:
Download and run the .LNK file association fix from
Doug's site:
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/file_assoc.htm

And this didn't fix it either:
Enter in cmd window:
"regsvr32 BROWSEUI.dll"
regsvr32 /i shell32.dll"
regsvr32 shdocvw.dll
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Depends where you got your copy of Windows from. If it
was Microsoft then try http://support.microsoft.com/ for
a list of phone numbers. If it came with your PC it will
be an OEMed version and you need to contact your PC
supplier for support.

Have you tried right click | send to | desktop (create shortcut)?
