Getting duplicate messages from server account. Why?

4 accounts on one server work well. No Problem. But a new account on
Godaddy.com e-mail service always sends my Outlook 2 messages of the same
thing (every time). Godaddy says the problem is Outlook. Since I have had
more than 1 webmail server several times - and this one is the only one
failing - then I really suspect Godaddy. If not, where do I look to fix this?

Is this the only GoDaddy account you have?

Yes, my other accounts are at TDSNET. We just dropped an account with
Fusionpage.com, and we have used accounts at yahoo and juno in the past -
using Outlook use them as popmail accounts. But Godaddy is the only one
sending 2 msgs for each one.

First make sure that you're not scanning incoming messages with an antivirus
scanner. Make sure your send/receive interval is no less than about 10
minutes. Increase your account's server timeout value (on the Advanced tab
of your account properties pages). Sometimes a new mail profile can fix it
as well. Are you leaving messages on the server?

I've seen repeated messages when two accounts reference the same server and
there are recent reports that Outlook 2003 still has issues with POP
accounts and duplicate messages despite the fact that SP2 was supposed to
address it.

We use AVG AV software on emails (required by corporate) - have been for 2
years.

We had the send/receive set for 15 minutes. When this happened, someone
suggest down to 5 minutes - which, of course, didn't help either. Now it is
back up to 10 minutes, since you suggested it.

Originally, server timeout was at set 2 minutes, but we had moved it to 5
minutes. Now, we are setting it at 1 minute to see if anything changes.

No messages being left on server. And, only one account on this particular
server.

Perhaps it is an Outlook problem.

Thank you for all your suggestions.
