Getting an old application to work on XP Pro

I have some old genealogy programmes designed for DOS or
Windows 98 which worked perfectly on Windows 98. Having
upgraded to XP, re-installed the programmes and run the
compatibility wizard, they still do not work. An error
message "Divide by zero or Overflow error" comes up.

Is this something that can be fixed ? If so how ?

Since xp does not use or run on dos the dos programs may never work right.
Best thing to do is upgrade the apps or find something else that is windows
based.

Right click the exe file and select properties/compatibility tab.
Select Win95 and all of the checkboxes below also. Perhaps this will
force the program to execute properly. Maybe.
