I have had trouble ever since switching from Outlook 97 to XP. My address
book in 97 never smoothly converted to Outlook XP. So everytime I clicked
address book in Outlook, it would give me an error about not finding it, then
return a dialog box with three address books, all with the same name. When I
selected the third one, I got my 97 addresses, but that was the only way to
get to it. l could never use any auto type of addressing features cause it
was always confused by the three address books, only one of which is any
good. So now I sit with an Outlook PST in my My Documents folder, and
another one in the Application Data/.../Outlook folder. The one in my
documents folder is the one I want to keep. Can anyone tell me how to fix
this. I have done the "detect and repair" in outllook, and reinstalled
office twice, but still no luck. THanks

Which PST file is currently your default information store?

Hi Sue,
Thanks already for your kind offer of help. The file I am trying to use as
my default is called, Outlook.pst, and it's in my MY Documents folder. I
also have an outlook.pst file in the/documents and settings/corey/application
data/Microsoft/Outlook, and also in Documents and settings/corey/local
settings/application data. It seems like every time I move one or rename it
to test it, I get these errors. The problem is I don't know which file is
which anymore. I 'd like to delete all of them except the good one, the
uninstall and reinstall outlook and then try to import my one good address
book.

Thanks.
