Getting an error message when importing from Excel

I have been trying to import a worksheet into a new table. The worksheet was
emailed to me had hidden columns with formulas and was password protected. I
copied the data columns I needed into a new Excel file with no password and
no formulas. I unprotected all cells.

When I use the import wizard, I get:
"An error occurred trying to import file C:\...\...\.xls. The file was not
imported."
