Getting "ActiveX control error" when loading my webisite from acomputer without JAVA installed.

I'm in the process of removing any components from our website that
require JAVA to be installed on the client computer. Our website is
basically just pictures and text, nothing special, simple buttons and
pictures.

I have 2 computers that I'm using to view the website, 1 has Java
(sun) installed and one that does not have java installed.

On the computer without Java when I click on any of the buttons to go
to any of the pages I get the error: "To help protect your security,
Internet Explorer stopped this site from installing an ActiveX control
on your computer. Click here for options" To my knowledge we are not
using any activeX controls. I even tried letting it install the Ax
control and got the message "Windows has blocked this software because
it can't verify the publisher"

1. How can I tell what activex controls my website may be trying to
use?
2. How do I eliminate them so my users who don't have Java installed
(this seems to be the difference between computers that get this
message and those who don't"

I wany my website to be error free. Any other ideas how to "validate"
my site against end users getting errors?

Are these hover buttons you're clicking on? If that's the case then you're
probably receiving the error because the hover buttons require Java and
you're receiving the error because it's not installed. Do you have a sample
URL we can look at just to be sure?

Hope this helps,

After looking at the code I still saw references to hover buttons. I
pulled all the hover buttons (which I will be doing to all my pages,
replacing them with inserted picture buttons since I don't like the
interactive buttons. Once I pulled all the remaining hover buttons on
the page the activeX prompt went away. I think I've found my problem!

The way I read it was that Haadi was also interested in this topic and
wanted anyone with any information to contact him

I think that reading and/or replying to the NG would do that
