I have a HP computer with WinXP Home SP2 installed and I want to do a clean
install of the WinXP Home OS. Problem is HP does not give you a CD of the
OS. I paid for it and have the SN and KEY. My question is will MS send me
a full OEM copy if I ask, and if so, where would I ask? Somewhere I
remember reading that I could and they would.

Microsoft does not replace OEM versions of Windows.
You purchased an OEM license with HP, not Microsoft.
Your license is valid only with the HP recovery method.

HP Pavilions that ship with Microsoft Windows XP do
not come with Recovery CDs. Instead, they use a hidden
space (partition) on the hard drive to store the recovery
information.

Read the following article thoroughly, then follow
the steps outlined to perform a "non-destructive"
recovery operation.

You paid for and received OEM Windows XP, not retail Windows XP.
HP uses a hidden partition and may also have a method for you to make
recovery CDs.
Check your manual and/or contact HP for details.
One of the many reasons you pay less for OEM.
