I tried to dual boot xp and vista by installing vista first then installing
xp, but then i tried using Acronis Os Selector to boot from vista and it
boots me to xp. Then i tried deleting the Os form acronises menu and finding
it again, so basically i want to know if there is anyway to get back to vista
w/o reinstalling it?

Boot from the Windows Vista DVD, select the System Recovery Option, on the
Setup screen, click 'Repair Computer' select your Windows Vista installation
click the Startup Repair option on the screen that appears then follow the
instructions.

I am afraid I do not understand. It will boot from the DVD, its possible
that it might wipe out Acronis own boot menu, but it should be able to
repair a corrupt installation and even make XP bootable at the same time.

When you installed XP it wiped the Vista boot menu. You would have been
better advised to use VistaBootPro to create the necessary menu for dual
booting. However, visit this link on my website:
http://vistasupport.mvps.org/vista_dvd_repair_your_computer_options.htm
andselect the 'startup repair' option this will replace the Vista boot
manager files and should allow you access to Vista. If you then want to dual
boot to XP download VistaBootPro from www.vistabootpro.org and add XP to the
boot menu from within vistabootpro.
