To enter the Bios on a model 9870 HP Pavilion:
Turn on the CPU, Turn on the CRT, when the Blue HP screen with the white
letters appears, instantly press F1 on your keyboard and hold it down.
If you hear a buzzer, you did it right, so let up on the F1 key and wait,
in about a minute you will be the BIOS.
If you don't hear a buzzer and Winsows appears, you didn't press F1 quickly
enough and you must turn off your computer and try it again.
Being quick to press F1 when the blue and white HP screen appears is
everything here. Some times that screen will be gone in a fraction of a
second.
If the screen comes and goes to quickly, try watching the switch on your
CRT. When you first turn it on the light around the switch will be yellow,
then will turn to blue.
When the light turns blue, quickly count out loud to three and start
tapping the F1 key very quickly. HP don't make it easy to get in the BIOS but
it's really easy to screw up everything once you get there.
