get rid of page 1 watermark

I like the way that Page Break Preview blocks out in grey the rest of the
worksheet that you're not using.

I understand that in Page Break Preview, the default shows the "Page 1"
watermark.

There's GOT to be a way to keep the page view the way it looks best: with
all of the extraneous stuff greyed out AND get rid of that pesky, irritating
unnecessary "Page 1" watermark. If there isn't then MS should make that an
option because no one seems to like it.

You can manually adjust the display of your sheet to resemble the
'PageBreak' view.
You can even go a step further, and *completely* eliminate the "other" cells
if you wish.

Set your zoom to whatever you like ('PageBreak' view is approx. 60%).

Select the entire column (header) of the column where you wish the grayed
area to start, then:
<Ctrl> <Shift> <RightArrow>
This selects all the columns to the end of the sheet.
Right click in this selection and choose <Format> <Patterns>,
And choose a shade of gray that suits you.
*OR*
To *completely* hide the other cells, choose <Hide> instead of <Format.

You can do the same thing with the rows by using
<Ctrl> <Shift> <DownArrow>.
