Get rid of "Confirm file delete....." for Shift ¦ Delete

J

John

I long since got rid of the pesky Confirm file delete for ordinary
deletions.

To avoid my Recycle bin filling up with *definite* rubbish I try to
delete such files using Shift ¦ Delete so they dont go in the bin but
disappear forever.

However, doing this brings up the pesky "Confirm file delete...."
prompt.

Is there a way of turning it off for Shift ¦ Delete deletions as well?

Thanks

John

Thanks for the reply but that works for ordinary deletes; I am trying
to do the same for Shift ¦ Delete; this deletes the file without
putting it in the Recycler but produces the unwanted prompt even after
it has been turned off for ordinary deletes.

Right click the recycle bin and uncheck "display delete confirmation dialog"

John,

If you don't ever put files in the Recycle Bin there is a checkbox on the
Recycle Bin property sheet called 'Do no move file to the Recycle Bin'.
Check this box then uncheck 'Display detelet confirmation dialog' and you
should be good to go. With these settings you only need to press Delete.

If you wish to still put other files in the Recycle Bin without just
deleting everything I don't know of a way to rid yourself of this confirm
delete dialog when using Shift + Delete.

Check out this site for more info.

Great, but what if I removed the stupid recycle bin from my computer
years ago?
