Get rid of combo key

mathieu

hi there,

For some reason, everytime I press 'Shift' + '8' iexplorer comes as
first application on the screen. I have searched everywhere on the web
to get rid of combo key, but all I can find is web site summarizing
usual combo key.

How do I get rid of user defined combo key ?

Thanks !

Don't know about /Shift/ + '#' ", but for 'iexplorer' i
would first look under the start-menu and on the desktop for
shortcuts to 'Internet Explorer' and right-click and chose
'Properties' and see if there is a shortcut defined in the
'Shortcut key'-field.

If you find a defined shortcut key, place cursor in the
field then use 'delete'-key or 'backspace'-key to delete it.

But a shortcut to a .html, .txt or other document could be
pointing to 'Internet Explorer' as the program to open the
document with, so finding the shortcut responsible might not be
so easy. I have downloaded but not yet tried the following
program that you might want to try to see if it can help:

Postcardware, 'Shortcuts Map' by 'Zeal SoftStudio':

I HopeThatHelps.

Not a single shortcuts found on my system... this must be stored
elsewhere. How painful, I cannot type '8' on my french keyboard, I
need to capslock/ 8 / un-capslock

Sorry to hear that didn't help.

A while after my previous post i thought that perhaps you
had software for your keyboard that allowed you to define
'Macros' to execute different things you did often, like
launching your default Web-browser (Internet Explorer) for instance.

If not some software that came specific for your keyboard,
perhaps some other software running in the background to set
key-combo macros. If you don't know if you have any of the above
types of software running, try booting into 'safe mood' and see
if you still have the same behavior.

Also, to eliminate the keyboard-hardware part currently used
as being involved, try your computer with a different keyboard
attached.

That's how i think i'd proceed. Good luck.
