Generic ink And paper Follow-up

Jeff

Thanks for the input regarding my imminent purchase of the R1800.

I will stay with EPSON only ink for this printer but may dabble with generic
paper since I dont seem the harm in experimenting.

Did i read right, can EPSON cartridges be refilled with their special inks
on my own?

Just curious too, assuming printing of 8x 10 or 13 x 19, how many prints am
i good for before replacement of the ink?

Interestingly I a musing a $40 lexmark printer with an aill in one cartridge
that is giving me splendid photos on 99cent store (8 glossy sheets 10
MILL )
See, I just want a knowkabout printer too where i can use generic inks for
non archival work, the lexmark doesnt use generic ink but for now since i
can use the generic glossy I'm happy.

I bought my first epson printer in April 1995, the epson stylus color
esc/P2..man did that black cartridge last forever..
I'd still use it, but after i upgraded to win xp sp2 from SP1 it stopped
working, damn.

Well, I'm not sure I suggest using "your own" inks, but yes there are
procedures for using 3rd party inks in empty Epson cartridges.

Lexmark would not be my first choice in an inkjet printer, in fact, it
would be one of my last.

That is a good choice
