GENERIC HOST PROCESS FOR WIN 32 SERVICES

AS SOON AS I LOG ON I GET THE MESSAGE ABOVE " GENERIC HOST PROCESS FOR WIN 32 SERVICES " . I HAVE LOST ALL SOUND TO MY PC. CANNOT GET INTO SOME PROGRAMS LIKE MEDIA PLAYER. AFTER CONNECTING ONLINE I CAN USE EMAIL AND INTERNET FOR ABOUT FIVE MIN ON AVERAGE BEFORE IT CRASHES AND CHANGES TO A CREAM COLOUR.

I HAVE NORTON ANTIVIRUS WICH DETECTED TROJAN .ADCLICKER ON ITS WEEKLY SCAN A FEW WEEKS BACK

HAS ANYONE EXPERICENCED THIS PROBLEM AND DO THEY HAVE A FIX

See if the virus corrupted any of your system files by;
Selecting Start>Run... type "sfc /scannow"

I RAN A SCAN BY TYPING SFC/SCANNOW. WHEN I CHECKED HOW IT WAS DOING THERE WAS NO MESSAGE OR ANYTHING. SO i ASSUME THE SCAN WENT OKAY.

ANOTHER THING IVE NOTICED IS THAT I GET SEARCH-TOWN.NET AS A HOME PAGE WHICH IVE NOT SELECTED. IT KEEP COMING BACK AFTER I START THE COMPUTER ALTHOUGH IVE CHOSEN A DIFFERENT HOME PAGE AND SAVE IT

I have spy bot already installed and everything is checked

the problem is still there

do you think I will need to get the xp disk and start reloading

I`m in the middle of my exams and need my pc

any help is welcomed and I thank the guys who have already inputted

Pc at the moment is virus free (norton) and spybot checked. the generic message comes sometimes. after 5 min on internet or email disconnects and not able to reconnect. no sound, programs such as media player not working. Its getting messy.
