Generic Host Process Error at Startup

Hi, I thought I was pretty good at diagnosing problems, but this problem
that i'm having has stumbled me...my system would boot up for a bit and i get
an error...here's my event log:
Faulting application svchost.exe, version 5.1.2600.2180, faulting module
unknown, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x00000000.
After several restarts i get these messages:
Faulting application svchost.exe, version 5.1.2600.2180, faulting module
ntdll.dll, version 5.1.2600.2180, fault address 0x000105f8.

AND

Fault bucket 127461448.
I generally have to reboot a few times just to have my system working.
Sometimes the error doesn't come up. I've uninstalled my Norton and disabled
my firewall...went into services and disabled WIA from starting up. I do
have a networked HP printer, but I have removed the printer from the
'printers and faxes', used the HP scrubber to remove anything that deals with
the hp 2200 series printer. Yet I still get this error message. This
actually occurred awhile ago...didn't take much notice until I was unable to
use the computer until after a few restarts and that's when I started to get
worried, as I do have information on the system, which I will backup now.
I've been through several forums and there wasn't a real fix for this yet,
but I'm optimistic and hope someone here can help me. Also tried removing
all the svchost.exe.hdmp...but it didn't work...I did notice a post here,
where Win32 was disabled and that seemed to work. Don't know how to do that
and there was no steps posted...please help ..
Thankyou

Hi, Thanks for the tip...tried doing the winsock thing...does it have to be
in safe mode? I ran the netsh...method and going into the registry and
removing both winsock and winsock 2 then reinstall my tcp/ip stack...same
error comes up. Had to reboot my system twice for me to get it working, for
now i'm just keeping my system in standby mode. Thanks for trying!

Svchost is the interface program for a whole slew of system services.
It has been picked up as a way of running malware, and I think it likely
you are infected. See http://aumha.org/a/parasite.htm for suggested
action

Thanks for the tip Alex, I've ran most of those already. I have ran
housecall, adaware, spybot, antispyware, cwshredder and even
hijackthis...nothing was found in each case. I've ran sfc /scannow-that
didn't help either, cleaned all the temp files-cookies-TIF-emptied recycle
bin-...defragged and yet I still get an error...I'm think its time for a
format reinstall...but I will hold on that thought...for a bit 'cause I think
there is a fix for this because I do a google search and a lot of people have
this problem, but no fix for it yet, so I'll wait and see if MS comes out
with a fix...
thanks again,

Hi,
This is just an update: So far after two restarts i did not get any startup
errors
This is what I did:
Only noticed it because I was trying to share my files over a network, which
unfortunately i was unable to. so I went into the network setup wizard and
went through the steps to setup a network. TADA! restarted system and it
works! Either it was just luck or it was just a fluke, we'll see what
happens after a few restarts and some reversal of some services that i have
turned off.
Thanks to everyone who helped
