General Protection Fault in module USER.EXE @ 0003:00001022

When browsing using IE 6.0 I continually get an error
message, General Fault Protection in module USER.EXE at
0003:00001022. When this occurs, which is quite often, I
have no choice but to shut down IE 6.0 and restart again.
Does anyone know how I can correct this problem? Please
advise?
 
If the error is Iexplore.exe cause... in User.exe then.

There's a good possibility that this is being caused by a third-party
program (adware, spyware, parasite).
