General Canon i560 Questions

I'm a fan of HP's products, but lately the individual ink cartridges of
Canon and Epson have been tempting me. I currently have an HP DeskJet 930c,
HP Photosmart 7350 and Canon i320 - all using tri-color cartridges. The
Canon i560 is $89.99 at Costco, which seems like a good deal. I would use
it as my everyday printer... I have tons of supplies (all on sale of course
:0P) for my Photosmart and the i560 isn't capable of producing high quality
photos like my Photosmart (and I don't want to spend more).

So my question is this: How do you like it? Is it quiet? My DeskJet is
getting more and more sluggish as I get more and more impatient. I believe
it's 9ppm in DRAFT black-only mode and 3ppm in regular black-only mode (what
I use). I'm not in any rush to print everything, but those few times were I
am, it's like an eternity waiting for it to finish printing.

Ahhhh I'm becoming a Canon convert! =D

An i860 isn't that much more. Scrape up the difference and buy that
one, or an i960.

As a suggestion, outpost.com is selling the i850 for $99. That is if you
don't mind buying online. It's only $10 more and it prints excellent
photos. Good luck.

The i860 is very appealing as well, but buying it from Costco is more
appealing (their return policy is phenomenal). Plus that, shipping costs to
Hawaii (if they're using FedEx) would be astronomical. I prefer to buy
locally, and Costco is the only place I buy higher-ticket electronic and
computer items from. Thanks for the suggestion though, I appreciate it.

While the i860 is very appealing, I only want the i560 as an everyday
printer. I don't need the extra speed or dye-based black ink of the i860.
I have my Photosmart 7350 for photo stuffs. The i560 is already much faster
than my current DeskJet 930c so I'm sure I'd be happy. Plus that, Costco
only sells the i560 at their local warehouse. They haven't had a Canon
inkjet in 5+ years so I'd like to jump on it before they run out.

I recently converted from Epson after many years and bought an i560. I too
only use the photo printing capabilities very occasionally and so opted for
that instead of the i860 on cost. I have to say that printing on Canon
paper using Canon inks produces stunning pictures. I find this a very
useful piece of equipment.

The i560 prints better than one might expect for $90 US. And it's very
fast, almost as fast as the i860...you need a stop watch to notice the
difference.

Don't be surprised if you find your 930c gets set aside...the i560
produces rather good photos for a 4 colour printer. It has the same
printhead as the i850 with 1600 nozzles and 2 picoliter droplets.

I have an i850 and it produces very good photos, good enough that I've
stopped using a photo lab for my prints.
