On my NVIDIA settings it says BUS type = PCI, but its in
the AGP slot and everytime i start my computer i go in
device manager and it has a exclamation mark next to the
graphics card/driver, ive tryed reinstalling the drivers,
etc

got any suggestions?

thanks

You must first disable your onboard graphics driver in
order for your new card to work. You can check your bios
settings by going into the setup menu during the post
screen.

He may not have an on-board graphics adapter.

You must find and install the motherboard chipset drivers in order for
Windows XP to correctly dispaly the AGP port settings. Part of the chipset
drivers should be a AGP slot driver.

A PCI video card should be placed in a PCI slot.

Never mind. Checked the specs on the card closer and it does support AGP -
up to 8x.

Is This A Setting That Can Be Changed? To AGP perchance? When you Install
the Driver Software do you have option to choose agp or pci?
i recall having an issue like yhis once and it was resolved in the install
process, after completely uninstalling the card/drivers

NO! This is not a setting available on the nVidia driver. Install the
motherboard chipset drivers.

There maybe an option in the BIOS
to set between PCI/AGP, if this videocard
isn't built-in. BUT if there is a builtin card
yup disable it in the BIOS, before you put the
AGP card in... I use the same card..which is
8x AGP on an ASUS P4P800. (Well its an ASUS
Geforce Magic T card. (FX 5200)

Now, this may make you feel rather stupid, don't. I had the same
problem. Is the AGP card FIRMLY inserted COMPLETELY into the AGP slot?
It only took me 3 formats, reinstalls, and about 20 hours to check
this. Talk about overlooking the obvious eh? (fortunately, I was
setting up a new ((read, rebuilt old pos comp)) machine)

Hi,
On booting the PC, access the BIOS=> (key(s) to press appear(s) briefly on
screen).
On 2nd or 3rd page, there should be a choice to use either of "PCI Video" OR
"AGP Video" FIRST.
Your choice is obvious.
Accept changes/Save/Rebbot.

I have sen this. It is a problem because your XP may not be able to see the
AGP slot correctly. Always install the latest chipset drivers for your
motherboard. These usually contain the AGP slot drivers.
