gcasDtServHolder

MSAS has been working fine with no problems but has recently gone wrong.

After starting the PC (Windows XP Prof) it displays the gcasDtServHolder
window with 5 badly laid out buttons, (systrayhide, systrayshow,
systraynormal, systrayscanning and systrayupdating)

There is no Minimise button only an X to close. If closed, MSAS stops
running and the icon in the system tray disappears. I can push any of these
buttons but they seem to do nothing.

Now if I want MSAS running I have to put up with this window always on
display.

I have tried uninstalling and installing the latest downloaded version but
this has not solved the problem.

Any suggestions please.

Have you made changes to video drivers or video related utilites, or screen
resolution or other display related settings recently?

That's pretty vague I realize. This is a window intended to be hidden which
shows up under a set of conditions I can't define precisely. (or at least,
I can't recall all the possible causes we've seen over the course of the
beta!)

It will go away with beta2, I believe. Whether you can make it go away
sooner, I'm not sure--some have found that it went away on a restart, but
clearly that hasn't worked for you.

Did you install any powertoy add-ons from Microsoft?
