Gateway computer - DVD disk drive opening

I got a small Gateway desktop and it's hard to open the DVD drive.
You have to push really hard and slow on the button, or sometimes you
have to open the hinged part first. Sometimes I've had to look for
an
Eject command in a program.

Having to deal with the hinged part isn't so great either (this model
is an SX2800).

I think it's just cheap/poor design. At least there's a pinhole for
ejecting.

The only thing that makes any sense is to replace the drive.

They are so cheap now that even replacing it with a burner costs peanuts.

Remove the hinged door.
