gap in Add Remove list

Since new my Toshiba laptop has shown a very large gap in the listing of the
programs under Add-Remove in the Control Panel. A and most of the M's are
in the first 1/8" of travel of the scroll bar, and a near equal number,
comprised of the remainder of the M's through Z are located in the final
1/8" at the bottom of the scroll bar. The portion in between is white,
interrupted by some very wide black vertical bars in the middle of the
scroll bar travel area. Any suggestions where the problem might be and what
I can do about it? TIA, Dick

Many thanks Carey for finding that for me. I did the Regedit as shown and
can find no "DisplayIcon" where a negative number might be located. I
don't really understand what he means by "remove the last application
listed", and the meaning of the {} at the end (\Uninstall\{}). Can you
clarify just what the last 'application' might be. Does that mean that it
is in the long list of numbers that are enclosed by {}? Sorry to be so
uninformed, but I don't want to foul the registry, tho I did back it up.
TIA Dick
