Problem in Add Remove Programs Box (Strange)

I am running XP Home with Service Pack 2. In the add and remove programs box
it lists the first few programs, then has a very long space/gap. It starts
black then as i scroll down it changes color sometimes in squares other times
vertical lines. Can anyone please tell me what the problem could be and a
possibel solution? Thanks.

Hi,

I am having the same problem with the "Add or Remove Programs". The
same gap with the black and white vertical lines. It's really WEIRD.
Did you figure out what caused it or how to get rid of it? I'm going
nuts here and I'm scared it's some type of virus.

Thanks for the link, but I went to the registry as described and could
not find anything out of the ordinary. What should I look for? What
is considered an invalid entry?

Uninstall or edit the DisplayIcon for the last program listed.
