Gamma and colour settings lost on reboot

I'm currently using win98se, and catalyst4.2. Everytime I start my pc, the
desktop is very dark, even when i set gamma bar to 1.3 . Now when I enter
catalyst cp, and click on color tab, desktop gets brighter.

Why are gamma settings are lost on reboot? Is there any alternate/better
program to adjust color settings on win98?

Works fine on my system. (98se, 4.2) Even DX and GL games are
switched/changed/loaded/saved or whatever and back fine now.

Finally!!! Those color profiles are nice now that it's all working the way it
should.

I think the problem solved by itself!!! Wierd.. how win98se works..
